I came across a Nov. 6, 2000 FDA advise for drug companies to voluntarily pull out medicines containing phenylpropanolamine which is commonly found in cold/cough medicines like dimetapp, contac. I can still find these products in the market. Should I continue to use them?

I think if it were that bad then the FDA would have forcefully had the products using it pulled whether the drug companies like it or not.

If you're concerned, read about the risks:

It can only raise your blood pressure and cause you to have a stroke.
