california has alot of teams but they suck and Florida has some good teams like the heat.Alsowat state has the greatest sports history?

Currently, Florida probably has a slight edge over all other teams, mainly because of their college success. It's hard to fight against Florida's top colleges in any major sport. In the past few years, save for the Devil Rays, Florida has had much success on the professional level.

The state with the best past has to be New York. The Yankees have more championships than any other professional team in any of the major sports. The Knicks, Giants, Jets, Dodgers, Mets, Islanders, Rangers, and Liberty have all had their hayday and their championships.

I would have to say Florida. Since 1997, the Marlins have won the World Series twice, the Bucs won the Super Bowl once, the Heat won the NBA Finals this year, and UF is the defending NCAA basketball champs.

Between The Marlins, Heat, Bucs, Jaguars, Dolphins, Gators, Seminoles and Hurricanes, my money is on FL for having the best sports teams.

I'll put in a plug for Michigan. We've got the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons in the four major sports and they've all been pretty good at one time or another (well, we're still waiting for the Lions! :-)).
We've also got the Shock in women's basketball that have won the championship recently.
The college teams are good too, Michigan and Michigan State, in basketball, football and hockey.
We've also turned out some pretty good boxers and swimmers. I think we're a pretty well rounded state when it comes to sports.

I would say Indiana, but they only have the Colts, Pacers and Fever in pro sports. We do have a great rivalry in college, Purdue and IU. We do have great history in high school basketball. I do not know if that would be considered the greatest in history. There was a movie made about it, "Hoosiers," so I guess there is a history there.
