"They hate the west and democracy" ??? That's just dumb. The troubles between Arabs and Jews really started in the early 20th century as Arabs in what was then called Palestine were concerned about Jews moving there and buying up land. They felt it was kind of like gentrification of palestine. So the Jews fight back, and the arabs fight more, and so on until in 1947/1948 the UN votes to make a Jewish state and an Arab state in palestine. The arabs reject this plan and invade the new Jewish state, and the Jews (who originally accepted the plan) figure the arabs gave up any right to the land take the whole thing for themselves by wining the 1948 war. Now the arabs are mad that they've lost everything, and continue attacking israel, which continues to win wars but feels under constant threat.... so on and so on....

Oh the beginning, well, the state of Israel was created by the UN...in Palestein...where people were already living...so the Israeli people went and were allowed to conquer the land with the blessing of the new UN...so, Palestinians, who are Arab mainly and also aminly Islamic, were consisdered victims by all of the neighboring Arab states, who would wage war on Israel from time to time, only to pretty much get humiliated because they could never defeat Israel. So naturally, the Arabs and Islamic people hate Israel and do not recognize Israel's right to exist for the most part. It has settled down somewhat over the years, but that is it in a nut shell. The Palestinians want their homeland back and Israel wants its historic homeland preserved (long ago Jews were expelled from their homeland...which later became Palestine). So we have two peoples who share one homeland...what to do? Maybe if they were tolerant and worked together, but no, it has become winner take all. Israel has conceded some land for a Palestinian homeland, but really it is land they won in the wars against Egypt and Jordon, and the lands are not connected. It is not a good solution.
I hope this helps.

Jerusalem is the heart of humanity ( Uriels machine ) The oldest living remnants of humanity have been discovered in these parts.. The convolution that goes into this explanation defies the space allowed.. suffice to say, It's a land battle further exaggerated by Religion, Capitalism and the Media.. there is no simple explanation to the issue.
The question is flawed however because it begins with "why do the Arabs hate the Israelis" .. that's way to general and an over simplification.. Not all Arabs hate and Neither do all Israelis..
Peace is still possible everywhere..

First of all, your question is not entirely correct. Arabs and Jews are not two mutually exclusive groups. There are Arabs that are Israelis (Jewish).
I think you meant to ask why do Muslims hate the Jews (or why do the Palestinians hate the Israelis).
And that question has a much longer answer than I have the stamina to write here. You are just going to have to study history on your own.
Short answer, they both claim the holy land (which includes Jerusalem) because both of the groups have holy sacred grounds there. The crusades were fought over it. The Muslims ended up taking it. A few hundred years later, the Brits came and colonized everyone. The Jews started coming back and Muslims living there sold land to the Jews. After WWII, Europe (still) wanted to get rid of the pesky problem of Jews, so two places were into consideration (Ethiopia, because of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon significance, or Jerusalem and surrounding area). Jews took Jerusalem and hence in 1948 Israel became.
So basically, Europeans got rid of the problem by throwing it onto the Muslims.
The problem in the last 60 years has been amplified because of the unconditional American support of Israel. Israel receives the most financial aid from the US, more than the rest of the countries combined. Israel receives ALL of the military assistance, weapons, and technology from the USA no matter what. Israel was created to keep a watchdog on the middle east and that is exactly what it has been doing.
Palestinians are treated exactly as how the Nazi's (supposedly) treated the Jews. They are segregated and required to wear identification at all times which identifies them as Muslims. 80% of Israel is off limits to non-Jews. Such a terrorist state actually requires ALL citizens to serve in the army and fight. Men serve three years and women serve two years. And they call Muslims extremists...huh, makes you think doesn't it?
Don't be under the impression that the USA controls Israel. But rather it is the other way around. The Jews have become so powerful (all over the world) that they control the US now.

The Arabs began to hate the Israelis only after world war 2 when the Jews took the place of the Nazis and used the Holocaust as an exuse for all of their crimes which included throwing hundreds of thousands of Arabs out of Palestine and then claiming no one was there in the first place.

read Kaiser Wilhelm, he is telling the facts about it.
Arabs can not hate Israelis, cause most Israelis are Arabs. Two brothers chose different religions. And became enemies.
There is a huge disappointment in this case... Arabs means not Muslim, as Muslim means not Arab. The reason for this dispute is not nationality, but religion. And every religion... it is used to manipulate people. Amin.
For Christianity any other religion is wrong. Same for Judaism, same for Islam...
That's the funny trinity. The Father Judaism, the Son Christianity and the essence of both of them, the holly spirit Islam. And they are all one, but still fight each other.

You can go back as far as you like on this one. In the year 70 AD the Romans destroyed Israel and set up the state of Palestine.. In 1948 the United Nations thought they had the authority to cut up Palestine to form a country to protect the Jews and called it Israel. Well the Palestinians thought this was the worest idea in history, and the neighboring Arab countries tried to reestablish Palestine... They've been trying ever since.

If you really want to go back to the very begining it started with Abraham, which both the jewish people and the arab people call their original patriarch. He had 2 sons that were the source of this, Ishmael (arabs) and Issac (jews). GOD promised the land of Israel to Abrahams decendants thru Issac, not Ishmael according to the Judao-Christian beliefs. I know, a lot of you dont believe this, but many jews and arabs do.

Actually, Arabs and Jews don't hate each other. Before WWI Arabs and Jews lived peaceably together in the entire region. In fact, there are still small Jewish populations in most Arab countries. The dispute arises over both sides believing that all of the land (including the small piece currently called Israel) was given to them by God. The situation was made worse because Britain was given a mandate over Palestine after WWI. Britain had promised a Jewish state in what is now called Israel in the Balfour Declaration and also promised all of Arabia (including Israel) to the Arabs for their help in WWI. After WWII, the United Nations attempted to solve the problem by partitioning the land giving part of it to what is now called Israel. The Jews, many of whom were trying to get there after the Holocaust in WWII, declared the state of Israel. all of the Arab countries declared war. Israel won and won again in 1967 and 1973. It occupied some of the land it had taken in those wars (including Jerusalem). some of the Arab countries have accepted the existence of Israel but others are sworn to annihilate it and of course, the two movements Hamas and Hezbollah are two non national movements dedicated to Israel's destruction. Israel insists on its right to exist and wants peace based on this acceptance and secure borders.

Oh my God!
I can't believe the fact that NONE of you brought up the fact that Mecca sits on directly on the ruins of what the Jewish population believes to be the Temple of David! Over 6000 years of bloody history to claim the land as their own biological source for living. Both are right and at the same time both are dead wrong. You can't ever convince them as they are deaf to reason. It can't be fixed because the rest of the world CANNOT fix it. They have to do it for themselves. I don't like it anymore than anyone else . But Who are we to judge a problem of this depth between peoples who just won't listen and don't care about any way of existence but their own? Answer that and you'll get a Nobel Peace Prize!
