yes it is time to change it just disconnect the hose from the pump and drain dont pay the high price at a garage you can do it yourself and refill it and likeimgettin is very very wrong transmission fluid is better than power steering fluid so that is what you want to use it will condition your seals and make the pump last longer some answer for just the points they dont know the answer

To change your power steering fluid you need a brand new turkey baster, suck out all the fluid to the bottom then refill, thats it, I do this 4 times a year

Sounds like wrong fluid or water got into the system. I think I would just check the level (when it's hot), leave alone.

As a chemical engineer, I'm telling you it's time for a change. Take it to a good garage where they will flush out the whole system.

All fluids over 75K miles or over 5 years old needs to be changed.

Yes it should be red, it does not change colour unless water is geting in some how. Did you put in the right fluid?

yes, and DO NOT USE AUTO TRANMISSION FLUID. you wil **** up your engines power steering and end up buying a whole new front end for your car. not cheap. just go to any real mechanic like an aamco or midas and they can do it for you.

Yes, it should be red. Just use automatic transmission fluid. It'll do the trick.

Check the owners manual to see when it should be changed, however, if it has a burnt smell to it you better change it and quick.
