score it a few times with a razor knife then break it over the edge of something

if its backer board, u can cut it with a razor knife, if its Dur-rock( cement board) wet the area of the board first after marking the line with a pencil, and then cut , will cut down on the dust.

hint: get a box or floor fan and point it so as to blow the dust away from u!

sharp utility knife and a strait edge. Score a couple times and break. If the board contains fiberglass mesh, you'll have to cut from the opposite side after its broken and bent 90 degrees.

Sorry - a jig saw would also make a mess. THere might be some sort of scoring device. I say predetermine your cuts and cut outside with a carbide circ saw. WEAR A RESPIRATOR and eye protection.

Not that I know of. hate the stuff. It works well though. I had to use a skilsaw and score it then jump up and down on the discard piece til it broke. A real pain in the butt.

Use the Saw only to Score the board, not saw it in half, then break it.

Take a utility knife use the back of to and score the back of the board. Then place the board on on a pencil where you scored it.and place pressure on it to braek it.Dont try to be to fancy trying to do it all in one piece. So don't be afraid to do it in multiple pieces..
