I think you mean that all of them are to the second power. This is actually quite simple, just add all the ones that have a similar base. you add the 9x* + 1/3x* (because they are both x*) to come up with 9 1/3x* then you add the z* + 4/3z* (because they are both z*) to come up with 1 4/3z* (please remember that z* is actually equal to 1z* so you have to add the 1 + 4/3).

Your answer is 9 1/3x* + 1 4/3z*. You cannot simplify it any further because they now have different bases (x* and z*).

if all to the second power (I think that's what you're asking) then just add the numbers with common base and exponent:
z* + 4/3z* = 7/3z*
9x* + 1/3x* = 28/3 = 9 1/3x*

so answer =
7/3z* + 9 1/3x*

The exponents are all 2, so you add:

Z* + 4/3 Z* + 9x* + 1/3x* =

2 1/3 Z^2 + 91/3 x^2

Works out to:
7/3 z* + 28/3 x*

7/3 is a common factor of the coefficients, and therefore

Simplest form: 7/3 (z* + 4x*)

lets see

its 9 1/3x** + 4/3z**

thats it.
