You will remain uneducated until you learn to solve your own problems. Do you all want to be stupid or what? If you keep up this lazy attitude your reward will be ignorance. I can't believe that the people on here answering these questions give them up so freely. Make them work for it. You did. I'm just trying to do my part in reducing the ignorance of the general population.

I agree there are some questions that are very difficult and finding the information can be very difficult. My complaint is mostly with the answers that can be found in the textbook especially mathematics questions. In order to get good at math you MUST do it yourself. It's a mind expansion thing. This is no joke. But when someone is having trouble finding information on some particular topic I still think they would be better off learning to search the internet themselves. Practice makes perfect.

I totally agree. (with above)
Unfortunately, some kids do not have parents that will help, and even if they do, their parents may not understand the material themselves. Along with that, those parents may not be willing or may not be able to afford tutoring. What better way to ask for advice and help than online with people all around the world that can give different opinions and views on the same subject?!
Now, of course, I don't really believe in giving an absolute answer to any homework. However, if we adults (and other kids alike) are able to steer someone in the right direction, what is the difference in that versus asking outright to a teacher? It is up to the student to put the final answer down on paper, and if they take our answers at word's worth without doing their own research, and get it wrong, that is still their burden to carry. That, in itself, is a learning experience to gather good information and refer that information to reliable resources as a second and third check.

I don't see anything wrong in asking for help. Sometimes a person can explain it in a way that you just haven't been able to grasp. One question answered is not doing someone's homework. I much rather see a homework question on here then some stupid, makes no sense one. Or a really obscene one. You don't have to answer a question you don't like, you know.

I agree...especially in the cases of the people who post five math problems in one question...considering that they may truly need help understanding how to do it, I usually break one down, and then say something like, "for no. 2, do the same, and for no. 3, do the same only divide by two..." or something like that. I understand that some kids may need help, and I know that my parents couldn't keep up with my schoolwork, but if we are going to participate in educating these kids, giving them easy answers is not going to help.

They ask because they can. And people answer because they can. But it would be really wise to do your own homework and not trust the answers they may get here on yahoo answers strangers.'

well, sometimes kids need an extra helper or teacher to tell them the answer. they can also refer to the answer and work from it to see how we do it. and if they get it wrong in their test well its their fault for entirely trusting us and not what their teachers tuaght them so.

People are asking for homework answers because they don't have the brain capacity to answer the dumbs questions. What REALLY bugs me is when they ask for answers to really DUMB questions...it's like, DUH, why don't you KNOW this?
