The only difference between the two is that the flatbed will keep all of the vehicle's wheels off the ground. This is important especially for vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive and those low to the ground (i.e., sports cars). The possibility of damage might be less with a flatbed, but there is always the chance for scratches, dings, and other cosmetic damage from chains, cables, or even the zippers on the drivers coveralls. Finally, flatbeds will charge higher fees so call around for rates.

On a flatbed the vehicale rides on top of the truck rather than being pulled behind on a regualr tow truck. If you have a four wheel drive vehicle you definately want a flatbed.

flat bed they will load the car onto the back of the truck, regular tow the wheels are still on the ground. If you are towing a long distance the flatbed will be safer for the car, but it will cost more. How much? you will have to call for quotes

With flatbed towing, they pull your car all the way up on a "flat bed". With regular towing, they just attach their equipment to the front (or back) of the car and the other set of wheels rides on the ground. Flat bed will probably cost more, but I would say they are both damage-free.

Depends on the tow company. A flatbed is where they drive or pull your car on the back of the truck and none of the car wheels are touching the ground. A tow truck is where they pick up one end and pull it with a heavy gauge wire/chain and two wheels are on the ground.

A flatbed tow truck has the car on top of it. A normal tow truck drags the car.

Well, flat bed, is what it means, It pulls the vehicle onto its ramp, and such. regular towing, they raise the fron or rear into the air, and let the other end ride on its own wheels(car being towed). Also, towing any vehicle, might have a slim chance of damage. It all depends on if the vehicle was lowered beyond belief, or has a body kit on it, and such. But if done right, there shouldn't be any damage on either one.
