All I want to know is how a fully grown black man made his voice sounds so high and creepy, man. And what any fully grown human is doing messing around with puppets.

OOooohhhh.......I loooove Muppets and Puppets and Marionettes and anyone who can get on the floor and play with little kids and get them to learn while having fun. The world needs stuff like this. We need Gordon and Susan and Big Bird and Grover and Prairie Dawn and Ernie. Sesame Street came out when I was little. I watched it every day along with Mr. Rogers and The Electric Company. I love it. Educational TV for kids has done alot in the way of acceptance of diversity in the way of race, gender, and people with disabilities of all kinds. I learned Spanish from Maria and Luis. I learned sign language from Linda. I learned to look both ways before I cross the street from Olivia. I agree that Elmo is a little bit overkill on the high voice and cutsie crap, but he's geared more toward toddlers, so he kinda has to be. So, all in all, no. When I think about it, it's not creepy. It's someone who helps kids learn on their level. Not everyone can do that and I am glad there are people who care enough to.

Dude in our house the babies first words were
Daddy, Mommy and Elmo!

He is a national treasure in our family. Go figure, a big black man trapped and empowered by a 2' red monster. Not mention, Elmo's handler is now paid very handsomely. SO basically that guy is sticking his hand into a fist of cash.

Jim Henson messed around with puppets and became successful and left a wonderful legacy for all children. Elmo rocks!

No it didn't scar me. Most people who voice cartoons or puppets are adults so I don't find it creepy.
