It could be from the spices they eat. What you eat changes the smell of your sweat. I'm sure they smell normal to themselves. You probably smell bad to them.

No, Dear child, they don't know it and it is part of their diet and of their culture. We as part of the citizenry of a 1st world country (especially in the cities) have been so sterilized to human smells: ie: body odour, farts, smelly belches etc... I personally would rather have a person smell like sweat than a really bad bottle or scent. Why do I know this? I'm a historical re-enactor: we try to recreate the life and times of several hundred years ago (and even 50 years ago) when a person washed daily (if one's lucky...could be every week or every month) but put on no deodorant/antiperspirant. Cologne was used to mask odours. After a weekend or a week's worth of sun, sweat and the same clothes day after day, even if one washes, to a "modern nose" one stinks. I didn't think I did but people around me were saying different. The East Indian diet is also full of spices and condiments you're probably not used to and those also affect body odour. I know you meant no harm with this question but it did look kind of bad. Have a good one, my Dear.

In general, people smell. They say that different people have different natural smell...who do you blame???
East Indian people may also think that you smell like a pig..so???

It's the curry they eat. And, no, they don't know they smell. Their whole house smells like that. I knew someone like this in my neighborhood and you could smell their house from the street!
