I'm all for it.
tell me if you are/ aren't and why?

i am because it helps people. plus the population's really too high anyway. i know that's mean, but it's bloody true.

if it helps someone who really needs it, then why be against it?

I am totally for! I find it hypocritical to object to it based on that 'it destroys' a human life. Human life? That should then include every ovum that is discarded by females not pregnant.
It leaves out that even the fertilized ova, that get thrown out are suddenly designated human life (only if used for research!)
And finally, the government has no problem with and defends killing people, a fair number of whom are afterwards found to have been innocent. Now THERE is a CRIME!
And finally, no one seems to find it ethically abominable that we don't go for healing that would help so many sick people, for reasons that are really moronic.

I'm all for it, under certain circumstances. Let me say now, I'm not an expert, and if I say something wrong, forgive me.

Abortion is murder. Stem cells need to be taken from umbilical cords, fluid, etc.

Also, if you had the choice to save an newborn and a 70 year old man (think Alzheimer's), most people would pick the man, just because he is older and more aware. The baby doesn't no any better. But by saving the old man with the baby, you are cheating the man out of probably 5-10 years, and the baby out of 70. I don't think many people realize that.

am all for stem cell research, so is the majority of people. it is embryonic stem cell research people oppose. for the following reasons. one there has been millions of dollars thrown at embryonic stem cell research and has not produced one solution. the embryonic stem cells are not as stable as adult stem cells. second and the most important reason is because if you create life just to kill it is that good? if you are allowing embryonic research and then next allowing fetus to grow then abort them for science. then allowing people to have children just to harvest their organs? then say we have clones made so that any time we need a new heart we kill the clone? so it is easier to say no at the beginning then after it starts.

the population will be falling in the next generations. there are more males being born then females. most family now have 2 children where you need at least 3 children to keep growth due to childhood deaths. in China were you are only allowed to have 2 kids most family's are having 2 boys to keep family name allowed. so there is not as many girls that are needed to keep up the numbers.

well, I suppose I agree that thepopulation is really full. and abortion a woman's personal choice (in the U.S., anyway). But have ya'll heard about umbilical cord research? It's neat. According to research, there are stem cells in newborn umbilical cords that help with different diseases. It is such a great thing (I think); of course, I also support research done with in the way most of ya'll are used to hearing....

but you HAVE to understand the other person's point of view...abortion IS murder, no matter how you put it.

It's understandable to say: well, the baby is already going to be aborted, lets put this "would-be" life to good use.

sad but true

God bless all of you

I am all for research involving human stem cells. It promises new treatments and possible cures for many debilitating diseases and injuries, including Parkinson's disease, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, burns and spinal cord injuries. I thiink the potential medical benefits of human stem cell technology are compelling and worthy of pursuit in accordance with appropriate ethical standards.

I whole-heartedly support it. I believe in utilitarianism, the greatest good for the greatest number, and stem cell research has the capability of benefiting many people.

I'm all for it. I think with it great advances in medicine can be made. Failing organs can be replaced. People can be made whole again. The possibilities are endless.
