Jimmy Carter has done more for the USA through the Carter Center than he ever could have done as president. He's much better suited as an elder statesman/humanitarian. I hope current President Bush rides off into the sunset and is never heard from again.

I wish people would read up on the Carter Presidency he was handed an economy that because of Nixon's actions and Fords inablility to stop inflation, was in the toilet and put into action the things that Reagan got credit for. He saved the lives of everyone of those hostages by NOT attacking Iran. His work since the presidency has been Great. In History he will be recognized as a very good president. So you neocons quit bashing a man with a good heart. Why is it that if someone reaches out a hand to help someone thats a democrat neocons savage them.

I'm not familiar with the carter center. I am familiar with his work with Habitat. He was an awful President, and I'm not very happy with his political stance in regards to Unites States. Carter has no room to discuss any actions, everything he touched failed miserably.

It pains me to say this, but I like Jimmy Carter. His politics are a little too liberal in some areas but overall, he was a truthful SOB and that's why people hate him, the truth sometimes sucks ***.

president carter is a fine example of 'walking the walk'...say what you will about his presidency, but there has not been a finer man elected to the office...the last real Christian president we've had...and it disgusts me to no end how the religious right has trashed this man and his reputation...he's a giant compared to the moral pygmies who have attacked him...

I think he deserved the Nobel Peace prize he got. I think he's our best ambassador abroad. Better build a house for poor people than sell speeches to the highest bidder.

I'm glad you said since he's been president. He is a great humanitarian, and in my opinion, a great person.
