Yes. He was not my type at all. I think he just ended up being there at a time when I was ready to get married. The relationship actually endured 17 years (married 15), but nearly 10 of them were pure misery. I talked to lawyers off and on for 8-9 years before I finally went through with the divorce.
Now I'm happily engaged to a guy who I can honestly say is "my type". He's my very best friend and we enjoy doing many of the same things. The interests we don't share, we're respectful of one another and try to learn more or participate on occasion. I guess the lesson I learned was that you should follow your instincts when it comes to things like that!

My type has always been the rugged type, some even say "biker" type. The man I just married is an older man that could not be further from that. He is gentle and kind and nothing I could have imagined myself with....but I'm crazy head over heels in love with him. I've never been happier. We have been together 2 1/2 years and married for 51 days!!

I met my husband when I was just 14 and he was 16. He rode my bus and was my buddy. I had no idea that we would end up married 7 years later. We have now been happily married for 7 years and have a 4 year old together.

Yes. I always was attracted to tall, blondes, and married a petite brunette. Married 9 years. Rough patches at times, but she is always the best person I have ever known.

The only surprise to me is that I got a guy who's really great looking, intelligent and understanding, and that we've been married 8 years and are still in love. I'm only surprised that I got so lucky!

Exactly...The man that i married w/ isn't exactly the one who's ideal for me,though it's somehow close to it...What matters most to me is that,we love each other and we take care of each other. We do also love our 2 lil angels and together we raise them with good values...I may say, this is the primetime of my life..I thank God for having been blessed w/ a wonderful family...

Not at all...everyone knew since high school that we would end up together. We even had a friend tell us that she did not believe in soul mates until she met us.
