I am looking for some old-time gospel songs that were sung using shaped notes. I am looking for the actual songs (cassettes, CDs. etc...) not sheet music. The entire song doesnt need to be in shaped notes. Does anyone know where I could find such songs? Thanks

I don't get it. Shaped notes is really nothing more than a different way of notating music. You don't want sheet music, but that's all you're find. It's just a way of writing music out, nothing more , at least that's how I've always understood it. I don't think it's even used anymore.

If memory serves me properly, shapeed notes replaced right into a sort used for those that did no longer comprehend the ABCDEFG sort of notes. One would have a difficuolt time finding it right here in this united states of america now. i could wager at the instant the situation to seek for that's in 'old time' hymm books.
