Same as "Price is right" with Bob Barker and other shows that come on CBS. All are paid by advertising that you see in btwn the programs.. Most companies donate the prizes won in these shows at less than market value in exchange for adverts..

Syndication. The shows are sold to tv stations that pay a pretty penny to have it. The show have extremely high viewer ratings and the tv stations can demand large rates for advertising. It is not unusual for stations in large markets to pay Millions a year to show Wheel. All the prizes are donated by the mfgrs. as a form of advertising.
