Sometimes people stay together thru some terrible ordeals - many do not. Is love the fix or can life suffocate it with problems, e.g. health, illness, etc.?

I think it depends on the couple and if they're both willing to sort out issues and work together.
For me I gave my ex 10yrs of my life, I worked on my issues (anxiety, low self-esteem and a few more) he worked his mouth and no action, so I had to let him go. There was only so much bulls**t, lies and broken promises that I could take from him. A part of me still loves him, but I could never get back with him!! Even if he won the lottery - LOL ;oD

i thin love conquers all only in some cases. some people no matter the situation stay together and others cant bare the problems anymore. sometimes love does sufficate, but not always because some people set boundaries or understand each other to the point where they know if its to much

Unfortunately love is conquerable... Fear seems to be the thing it's most susceptible to...
The fear of love, some people don't feel that they deserve it, for whatever reason.
The fear of loss of love, once you open up to it how would you live without it so you start distancing yourself when you come to this realization. This happens in situations involving illness, the aging process, etc...
The fear of loving someone, to some people loving someone translates to giving up your individuality and Independence.
I'm sure there are many things I didn't mention but a lot of what defeats love, in my opinion almost always turns out to be fear.
There are the blissful moments that people just allow themselves to go with the feeling of love without question. I try to live in the moment but if I'm honest with myself I flee out of fear also when the time comes.

Love is what makes the world go round.
It is the most powerful thing in the universe.
But not romantic love like on the tele and in the papers.
I mean unconditional love of everything and everybody is the most wonderful and powerful thing.

No love does not conquer all - when one partner in a marriage comes out of the closet and becomes a homosexual - no love will conquer that.

Love usually ends, and what is left is understanding and companionship.
Neither understanding nor companionship conquer much, to be honest. Reason why so few couples last together their whole lives.

No love does not concour all. Sometimes the issues are just too much for even love. Love does concour a lot though.

i think life suffocates it like right now there are some things boiling inside me and lately i feel like walking away from it all but i love him but deep down if things dont get better im walking
