I hope you aren't planning to get this tattoo while you're pregnant. Or planning to get pregnant after you get the tattoo. In either case, wait till after you've had your kids cuz the tat will change shape when you do...

I have a tattoo on my lower back and I had a spinal tap done in that area, which the needle goes farther into the spinal column than an epidural would. It should be fine. I am planning on having children too and I am not to concerned about having the tat there. The doctors never said that the spinal tap would effect the tat, so I assume that an epidural wouldn't either. Anyways i think they go a little higher more into the thoracic area of your back.

I've heard this too. I think that the only reason you couldn't is if your tattoo is so big that they can't see where they are putting the needle. I've heard mixed feelings, some say that you cannot get the epideral and others have never heard of that, but I've never been told definitely that you could.

An epidural? I heard something about this recently; that doctors were now refusing them to those with a tattoo there.
