Depending upon where you live, public libraries now offer free audiobook downloads with a library membership (which is free, BTW). You should check your local library as anywhere else that offers it for "free" is going to either have you download a virus or is illegal and you could later get nabbed like Kazaa users were (which could cost you a lot of money).

These are the steps to take to get free audio books that you can download and listen to.
•You will need the software iTunes, if you don't have this go to (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) You will see a link for a free download.
•Once you have iTunes up and running, make sure you have a Internet connection and on the left side of the iTunes program, click on Music Store
•Once you're in the Music Store you'll see a list of genres on the side, select "Podcasts"
•When you are at the Podcasts page you will see a search box on the top of the window, type in "audiobooks"
•Finally you'll see a list of free audiobooks for download, and you can listen to it on iTunes, or import it to your iPod, or even burn it to a CD!
