Well, Wayne-

This is what I know ...

Universities in the State of Ohio are funded through income tax proceeds and from tuition proceeds.

As you are probably well aware- the economy in Ohio stinks. Ohio ranks 48 out 50 states in terms of recovery. (Akron Beacon Journal had this as it's headline in yesterday's paper).
When the legislature works out the budget, higher education has been receiving less and less of the money. Money for education has been going to primary and secondary schools.

The 'gap' is filled by raising tuition. This effects students all over the state. It's a shame that Ohio college students have to shoulder the burden of decreased funding.

The economy needs to improve and the state needs to find more
creative ways to raise money of its institutions of higher learning.
It is now cheaper to attend an college out-of-state than to attend college in state in Ohio. (if you also count room and board).

Talk/write to your state senator and representative about getting improved funding for Ohio colleges and universities.

I don't have an answer for you. I have lived in Ohio my whole life. Here's a funny thing. I pay less to go to a private college in Indiana than my sister does to attend the University of Cincinnati (which is a state school). I hope you do find out! Make sure you let us know!
