Round Waffles

Eggo is the brand name. Waffles started out in the world square because all the wafflemakers were square shaped. Eggo decided for some reason to make them round and now several wafflemaker manufacturers also make round as well as square shaped wafflemakers. Of note, you can also find things like Mickey Mouse and Texas shaped wafflemakers on the market too, but if you just want the kind you pop in you toaster or toaster oven, Eggo is the one for you. I myself prefer Van's Organic Belgian Frozen waffles. They are really yummy.

Eggo is a brand name. Round waffles are not called eggo waffles, only Eggo (TM) waffles are called eggo. Waffles are waffles, no matter the shape.

Waffles turn out in the shape of the waffle iron. The shape is not patented. Cooks have been making waffles different shapes as long as there have been cooks making waffles.

Kellogg's brand of frozen breakfast foods markets their waffle product Eggos. They're round probably because some marketing committee decided to reinforce the idea that eggos have eggs in them. (Seems like they'd make them egg shaped, doesn't it?)

I have seen both round and square waffles simply called waffles. Personally, I do not like the taste of frozen waffles. I make my from scratch, and I have a square waffle maker. I do make round pancakes though.

i do not know maybe they made the comparison between a waffle and an egg it is round like an egg so they probably thought egg waffles would not sell very much so they add the o on the end :P

well becuase it's their BRAND NAME. waffles can be whatever shape you want and their still waffles. Eggo is a brand of waffles and they happen to make theirs in the shape of a circle.

Mmmmm round! My fiance further me some round ones back from Amsterdam and they were eye-catching - i imagine they were referred to as stroop waffles (no longer one hundred% constructive on that) they were incredible.
