I have an RG550LTD which is amazing, but go for the JEM if you can afford it, or even a Universe. Unfortunately they don't come cheap and prices for new on the web don't vary all that much as Ibanez are fairly picky about their distributors. As a rough guide yu should look at around £1500 - £1700 for a JEM or £2200 - £2500 for a Universe.
If you can't afford that much go for an RG series guitar, they are vey similar (apparently the RG550 is the closest you can get to a JEM) and much, much cheaper.
At the end of the day, you are paying for the signature and a little towards some pickups which can be changed anyway!

Guitar Center is your best bet...personally I like the RG series the best, specifically RG270...handles like a dream!
