i was wondering if i could travel inside this country as a tourist but i want to use airplane is that possible..

As long as you are in this country legally, your mode of transportation makes no difference. If you have a visa or a passport, be sure to have it with you at all times. You'll need it at every security checkpoint.

Amplifying on Big Joe's response, you NEED your visa or passport. I'm not familiar with these documents from Mexico, but if they don't include a recent photo ID, you'll need a recent photo ID too.
Watch what you're bringing onto the plane -- no cigarette lighters, no scissors, no gatorade.
