14 & 15 year olds have profiles that are automatically set to private(and they now have that option for everyone). But anyone can lie and say they're 14, just monitor her activity and make sure she knows exactly who she's talking to.
Also, make sure she doesnt put any personal information on there(phone number, address, stuff like that). There are a lot of predators out there and they know all the tricks.

hmmmm...this question is a toughie. If it were my daughter...I'd say no, but if she begged and begged, there would be much RESTRICTIONS placed on it. Myspace is a fun place for friends to keep in touch and at the same time, is a breeding ground for sexual predators. Here are a few things that I would require of my daughter
1) I would have to know all of her friends...PERSONALLY
2) her page would be set to private
3) all language on her page would be proper and not explicit
4) NEVER would there be mention of her full name. First name, sure, last name NEVER
5) real location would not be disclosed
6) pictures would have to be approved by me...nothing sensual or provocative (I mean, she's 14, right?)
7) that big long survey that everybody does would be a NO NO. That's alot of personal information, and somebody could pose as somebody she thinks she knows, and they can learn alot from that survey
8) no posting of phone numbers or email addresses or screennames of instant messaging

So, you ask me, what is there left to do? well, you decide that for yourself. But for a 14 year old girl, in this day and age, if you really REALLY want a myspace...abide by the above, for your own protection.

It is OK but some precautions should be taken.
1) Make it a private page so only known contacts can see it
2) Add security so that anonymous people cannot ask to be your buddy.
3) Parental oversight is always a good idea on the internet no matter what sites are being looked at

That depends on a lot of factors:
1. Do your parents agree that you should have one? If no, then the answer is NO.
2. Do you know not to put ANY pictures of yourself, your friends or your surroundings online?

You might ask why, but internet predators use this information to stalk thier prey. First they find out what you look like (or what yur friends look like), then they look for things you like to do, and where you might be (like a pic of your school or favourite place to hang out) so then they can find you, and that is a bad bad thing.

3. Do you know never to put personal details online? We already know that you are only 14 from this question. Be sure to use a fake name, and never put on any details about where you live (besides maybe a country).

If you know all of this, and your parents agree, it might be okay.

Its up to the parents. MySpace is private for fourteen and fifteen year olds but after that, you have to set your profile to private if you'd like to keep it that way. Just go to Account Settings for more details.

Yes, as long as you don't give out any personal information...especially your LAST NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, or YOUR SCHOOL!!! There are sick people out there...better to be safe than sorry!

Also, if anyone contacts you that you don't know, don't respond. Even I get weird messages on MySpace...I'm 21 years old though. I delete em!!

Yes, but make sure that you give out too much of your personal information. Such as where you go to school, what you look like, and where you're located.

As long as you're very vague with your details you should be somewhat safe. Just keep in mind that not all people out there are what they claim to be. Very few are honest.

And if you're still not sure about it get an adult's opinion...any adult that you trust and you know won't freak out.

no- its a really scary site. my friend met a guy on there who claimed to be a junior at the high school across town. he seemed really cool and nice and she decided to meet him. she brought another one of our friends and he turned out to be 24 and just wanted to have sex with her. you should stay away from myspace it's not good.

Yes, it is fine, but set your account to private, and dont add any strangers. Also you should ask your parents before going on there, even though it says you can go on it if you are 13 or older...Just be safe, okay?
