All numbers were named by man, ie. man made, so the largest number hasn't been made yet, because you could keep counting and never get to the end.
OR, the largest number as in height? Have you ever seen a 60 story number 1??

The problem with this is that if I give you a number, you can always add one, and it's a bigger number.
HOWEVER: The largest number with a NAME is a googolplex. A googol is the number 1 followed by one hundred zeros. A googolplex is the number 1 followed by a googol of zeros.

Hey Nurse,
The correct answer is a googleplex. It is a 1 followed by 1 MILLION zeros. Infinity is not a number, it is a theory. The reason that we don't use a 1 followed by 1 BILLION zeros is simply our current computers can't perform those calculations, yet. (Our computers would have to process the 1 with the Billion zeros preceding a decimal point followed by Nine Hundred, Ninety-Nine Million, Nine Hundred, Ninety-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine zeros followed by the number 1 !).
Hope I was able to help!
