I'm looking for a cheap (not seedy) hotel / motel along Miami Beach (preferrably) for two nights, last week of August. Any suggestions?

that is about the least expensive time of the year to visit south florida, pick the area you like and find a nearby hotel.

Just a warning. Be careful where you stay in Miami. That is one dirty city!
Our hotel had mold on the door, it was DISGUSTING.
That and the cleaning ladies did not speak english. I asked her if she knew where the ice machine was and she kept repeating in louder and harsher tones...."yellow? Yellow! YELLOOOWW!
That is so not even a joke. Miami is scary.
