You are an American. I hope you are proud of it. I'm proud of you for being proud of your beliefs. In the classic sense, you are a capital "L" Liberal. You don't think that the despot has the divine right to rule a country. Neither do I, so I guess I'm a capital L Liberal, too. You remind of a good friend who moved from New York to the south. He's very involved in politics. I was at a cocktail party where someone asked him "Noam, you are a New York Jew, you are pro-choice, pro-gay marriage and lots of other things like that ... and you are republican. Shouldn't you be a democrat?" Without missing a beat, he said "yeah, I wanted to be a democrat but I was too liberal for the southern democrats. Only the republicans would take me."

You are confused but probably believe what most people believe. It is all in how the question is phrased. Do you believe 1st amendment trumps all others? Illegal immigration? 1 million unskilled high school drop outs headed for our labor market. Pro war? You mean you are pro defending our country wherever and whenever? Me too. Help poor people? But not help them keep off their med's and use drugs which is what payment without accountability does. Libs would just make you an enabler. I think music doesn't matter. Permanent lock up for sex offenders? why not all violent offenders. Taking DNA from all felons is a start. I bet we are almost identical in our belief's but liberals are bent on blocking anyone who wants to defend our borders or defend our country from Nazi's called Hezbollah or ha mas etc. They have no solutions and contribute to the problems, making defending our country much more difficult. So I vote with conservatives.

I think I'll go with Liberal, just not ALL THE WAY left. A little more toward the middle.

well.. Conservatives will call you a "liberal" with the whole "pro-gay marriage thing and pro-choice"... but you seem to be fairly in the middle overall... perhaps even lean a little to the conservative side (pro-war, illegal issue, poverty ideas)

I'm against THIS War, but I'm with you on everything else... I won't commit to being completely against war, but that's what being a liberal is about...
