in case you desire to be a hundred-a hundred and fifty miles from Chicago, you're unlikely to discover ANY Lake Michigan frontage which isn't high priced. The hire high priced would be that which sits on a bluff overlooking the lake, has a rocky shore, and demands a stair of a few form to get to the water. considering the fact which you desire a boatslip, you won't be able to have a rocky shore (you won't be able to disturb the rocks). you desire a actual looking sand form sea coast. Such assets interior the geographical section you desire will run everywhere from $1600 to $2500 according to lineal foot of waterfront.

A really good website to browse local real estate/real estate agents is: http://www.idxbroker.com/news/256_IDX,_Inc._Introduces.php
just click on your state and you can check out local agents/homes/rentals without having to contact the realtor first.
It's really easy to navigate and is full of info about realtors with links to their personal websites (which should have all the available listings).
Try checking out the "featured" agents. I know some of them specialize in waterfront properties. Hopefully that works for you! Good Luck!

I live in Providence, RI. The average home inland is at least $300K. My house is worth $860K. When you get on the water front from CT, RI, MA, ME, you're look at 1.5M+ There is nothing cheap in New England. That's why I live here, I love it!
