I have heard a variety of things regarding to tresspassing and I was wondering if anyone has been involved with tresspassers or if they happen to know a site I can go to.
Police tell me there is nothing they can do about someone I don't want on the premises, unless my mom does something. This is her house, but I stay here alone with my 3 kids. I have asked a certain persony ony more than one occasions not to come here, but she still does.

I assume there is a reason why your mom won't tell the person to stay off the property. Is it her friend or something? I guess I would try to get her to do that first.

Otherwise, there isn't much you can do without a restraining order. If you can get a restraining order the person isn't allowed to come within so many feet of you regardless of where you are. Usually the order calls for a distance of 100 feet or something like that. I'm sure you could have it include you and your kids, since you are their gardian, if the situation is really threatening or bothersome.

It's your mother's property, so she would have to be the one to enforce any trespassing rules. In Illinois, they are hard to enforce but get a big "No Tresspassing" sign and hang it in the front of your property. This will cover your @ss when you have to call the cops on this person.

Another option (still hang up the sign though) is to have a restraining order put out on this person. With this, they cannot be within 500 feet of you or your kids, and yes this INCLUDES the property.

Furthermore, if they come into your house you have the right to shoot them (I've asked IL cops about this), but only shoot them while they are in the house.

you could try getting a personal restraining order so the person involved cannot come within a certain distance of you regardless of where you are located.
