Most people respect prep better. Especially, employers and teachers. Prep is more established than punk.
You can still rock out to punk and be prep, though.

once you're punk you're going to get picked on by technique of the preps and once you're a prep then you definately're going to be spoiled and rotten and everyone is going to hate you. yet i recommend being punk is being more effective you.. as preps you're following each individual and every person you may to seem and act cool so i imagine i'd somewhat be punk any day

The whole "Prep" mindset reminds me of Junior High children these days, such a flawed outlook on life I wonder how they will ever survive in and past high school.
Strictly punk kids can have a somewhat warped attitude as well though.

Neither....some people like the punk look...some like the prep look...let them be who they want to be...personally, I don't go for either...I wear what I want and if I don't belong in "punk" clothes....O WELL...deal with it. Why should we stick to ONE..if we can have the best of all types??

I think naturally, people tend to have varied personalities that fit into several categories.
So if anyone was extreme enough to totally fit into ONLY one category (i.e. prep or punk), they're probably more of a follower.

which ever's easier for u. for me, even tho im preppy, being punk sometimes has its appeal b/c you dont have to worry so much about what u wear or if someone else has the same thing and stuff. if ur punk u can wear whatever you think is cool w/o thinking about what other ppl think. preps stand to a lot of judgment but its defiantly better social wise.
