What's the best way to get into serious politics in the UK, how do I go about running for office, and what can I do to have my issues taken seriously

Work on someone elses campaign, you'll learn the ropes and make connections that way. Work hard at it tho.

I don't know about politics in the UK, but here in Canada, if you want to run for office, just lie, and you will be voted in right away.

Best way to get into politics, is to stay as far away as possible. Its not the polititan that dictates politics anymore. Everything is basically a set up anymore.

You might consider volunteering on some local campaigns. Just pick a candidate that seems to agree with most of your main issues. Once you have a little seasoning, ask some of them for advice (but not for their job).
