If I type a sentence or word to search, every search starting with that letter comes up. How can I delete these? (I have a Mac.)

>>> To the rest of the people that will try to help this person:
She's got A MAC COMPUTER. So your instructions based on Internet Explorer WON'T DO ANY GOOD to her.

>>> Now, to your question:
Indeed, you did not specify the internet browser you are using. So I will assume that you use the native Mac browser - Safari, or the second most popular, Camino.

For Safari:
> on the top menus select the "History" menu
> then, select "Clear History"

For Camino:
> select "Preferences" and choose the "History" pane
> Select the "Clear History…" button.
(You can also clear Camino’s history by choosing the "Clear History…" item at the bottom of the "Go" menu.)

Also, for Safari, do the following thing:
1. Go to the "Safari" menu and select "Preferences."
2. From the menus that pop up, select "Autofill."
3. Go to "Other forms" line and select the "Edit" button.
4. From the list of sites for which AutoFill is currently being applied, select "Yahoo.com" > "Remove" > "Done."

IF YOU CAN'T see any Yahoo listed there, then you are fine.

>> SIDE TIP:
While we are at it, I will mention that you should clear the cache at least once a month. To clear the cache:
> from the "Safari" menu select "Empty Cache"
> in the new window, click the "Empty" button

...Good luck!

To clear History on yahoo search engine, Look at the tool bar..Where you see the big Red "Y" you will see a pencil with a small arrow head, click on that, when small window opens up, click on (Clear History) ..Now the other problem...Any time that you type in a word in the search engine area , if you have 2 or 3 words starting off with the same first letter, It will open up and show the site that you typed in before, just ignore that and continue to type it will take you where you want to go..

You can delete the history of search bar on ur homepage (whatever it is either Yahoo! or Google) by following this path. Tools> internet options> content> auto complete> clear forms. To stop the generation of history uncheck the box of forms.

You can delete the search history on ur yahoo toolbar this way. click the arrow in the search box. Select options, click clear history. Follow this path also. Pencil> toolbar options> uncheck the boxes of enable auto complete and enable history> ok.

To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok.
It will solve your all search related problems.

That depends on what browser you are running. If you have Explorer, try going to Tools|Options. Then click the Clear History button.
