Yes - Oklahoma is a right to work until you fall over dead state. I can't believe the citizens of the state fell for all that crap that all the politicians were saying and promising to get these laws passed, They benefit only big business. "Attract new business - new jobs - more revenue blah blah blah" You don't even get overtime for working more than 8 hours in a day - only if the total for the week exceeds 40 hours. So much different than other states.
Sorry - this doesn't help you at all. What I would do is call the Attorney General of the State and find out what the laws really do say. Drew Edmonson OKC 405-521-3921 or Tulsa 918-581-2885. If they can't help you they should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

At my own personal job, the only stipulation is that you don't have more than 40 hours in a 7 day period. So I can work 12 hours or 8 hours or 10 hours as long as at the end of the week, I don't have 40 hours. But legally if you work 14 hours a day for like 7 days or whatever, make sure you find about the deal with overtime, double time, and your breaks. In Arizona, where I live, if you work over 12 hours you get like 2- 30 min breaks and like 3 or 4 15 min breaks. Good Luck!!

Yes, but they have to pay time and 1/2 for a great amount of that time over 8 hours. IF they have you on a 40 hour week, then they can have you work 4 days of 10 hours each with no overtime...but anything over 10 hours is at 1 1/2 times...not a bad deal when you think about it. These are federal laws, not state.

Is your State a "Right to Work" state? That's the down side of working for someone. . . they practicaly have control over your life. . . . yes, unfortunately they can do that. If you don't like it, you can find something else that you like better with some civilized hours. . . That's what drove me away from the hospitals (12 hour shifts and mandatory overtime).

Your bosses can say anything, but you don't have to go through with it. I would start looking for new employment
