All three are completely different in weight and tone, so if you want a Les, get the Les. It's the heaviest of the three and will have the warmest tone, perfect for keeping a decipherable sound with a good bit of distortion (you don’t want too much, though. A Les sounds too good if you stay away from the Big Muff sound).
The hollow-body has a sweet sound, but it’s not as versatile as the Les or the Strat. It depends on what you're looking for. Rock-a-billy? no? Leave it alone then.
And don’t get a Strat. If you want a Fender, get a Tele. I’ve played a Tele for years, and honest to God, it’s the most fun you can have in rock ‘n’ roll.

depends on your personal preference reallly, doesn't it? they're all perfectly good, servicable guitars. think of what you want to play on them and how you like to sound. the strat will have single coil pick-ups, giving it a very sharp, clean sound whereas the humbuckers in the epiphones will make them sound much more warm and mellow. also, you might want to check the way the necks work with your hands. the strat will have a thinner neck than the epiphones, so if you have small hands or want to be able to play at speed that would be your better choice. on the other hand, if you've already chosen the les paul you should probably go with your gut feeling and buy it. guitar buying has a lot to do with gut feeling, they have to suit your personality as much as your musical tastes.
edit: i have to go agree with the poster after me, if you're gonna get a fender, get a tele, i love mine to bits, would never ever buy a strat. and of course there is alway the nashville tele if you're looking for the versitality of the strat without losing the feeling of the tele. it's got three pick-ups and the five way switch, like a strat, but in every other way it's verey definitely a tele. i've replaced the neck pick-up with a humbuckere in mine and playing it out of phase between that one and the middle one is incredible.

Depends what kind of sound your looking for, but a Les Paul is a pretty standard rock guitar, I have a white one and it's awesome. Unfortunatly I'm not.

I would NEVER buy a guitar unless I play it and inspect it first! Been playing for a quarter of a century...never bought a guitar from a catalog and never will.
