What are some of the suburbs in Orlando, Florida?

Im moving there soon and I do not want to move downtown cause most downtown areas are bad so I just wanted to know what are some of the suburbs in Orlando, Florida and is it expensive to rent apartments there?

Anyway! The Kisimmee area of Florida has lots of new and up-incoming apartments for really great prices. The area is a nice size city but also, has suburbs on the outskirts of it's perimeters, such as Poinciana. It is a growing spanish community that is populated with a nice working class of people. Many Teachers, Civil workers, professionals, and close knit families reside there.

There is are two local community shopping centers, and lots of Puerto Rican grocery stores, libraries, parks for walking, bike riding, fishing, and family pic nics. The area is huge, lots of green grass, trees, and great family commuinty. Poinciana is a bit isolated from the city of Kissimmee, but it is still a very nice and quiet place to live and raise children or if you are single, it is great as well.

Saint Cloud is very nice as well, it is about 10 or 15 minuets leaving Kissimmee. It is very suburban, quiet and peaceful. Nice apartments, and homes. School system is great, Library, shopping centers in the Kissimmee area, nice community surrounded by nice senary.

Seminole County is nice: Oviedo, area is quiet and has a nice quiet community. Lake Mary, is very nice and quiet, mostly residents from 30 and up reside in there, a nice working class of people. Long wood is very nice and very quiet, close to shopping which is in Altamonte Springs. Lots to do in Altalmonte, but very busy, lots of Malls, shopping, schools, salons, everything.

Hey, I am going to help you out a bit. When you get the chance, or have some time to spare, I want you to check out these two (helpful) websites.

Rent.Com and Realtor.Com These two sites are excellent! Their sites show you their apartments, townhomes, and home rentals online. Rent.com is an apartment website that may also include home rentals from $750.00 to $900. per month. They also include their contact, fax, email, and address information.. you may also print out the pages of your choice.

Just click on how many bedrooms you want and a ton of apartment photos will come up on your screen to view. They show you the inside of their apartments, the size, and address and location, and the price as well.

Realtor.com will also provide the same information, but for home rentals. You might want to go that route as well. Because for what you pay for an apartment, you can rent a house here in Kissimmee, or Poinciana for the same amount but get larger rooms and more land and privacy.

In the price catergory check in 750. to 900. and it will give you all the home rentals listed from low to high in those price ranges. The homes are all in great condition, some are fairly new, any where from 10 years old to 2 years old.

There are not too many bad area's in Florida, I have moved here from New York City and can tell you personally, you are making a very wise choice. Stay away from the (Pine Hills )area of Orlando, and the vacinity, everywhere else is very nice, and people keep up the area's very beautifully!!

If you're looking for "country" living Clermont would be a great place. It is in Lake County but sits along the 4corners (Lake, Orange, Polk, and Osceola Counties). It is undergoing alot of construction now though, which serves to be a huge hassle. Not no much close by, the closest mall is 45minutes away but there are Wal-Marts scattered around. My rent where I stay at now is $435/month for a studio apartment, all the other apartments are round about the same price in this area too.
The Metrowest area in Orlando is very nice too, the closer you stay towards Conroy-Windermere RD the nicer and more expensive, the deeper you get towards SR50 (heading towards Pine Hills) the "uglier" it gets. Metrowest is nearly a city within a city, it has all the main features you could want. It is literally down the road from Universal Studios (and Disney not too much further) but outside the touristy area (too residential for them). It also located down the street from Central FL gorgeous mall, Mall of Millenia.
Doctor Phillips is also a nice area located across the street from Metrowest, so the same things apply but a bit more pricey.

Some areas you might not like (since you don't like downtown area's):
Oak Ridge
Pine Hills
Tangelo Park
Carver Shores
Eatonville

Where isn't it expensive to rent an apartment in Orlando?

I live in Orlando, but try Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, Kissimmee (away from 192), it realy depends on where you are working. I live closer to Maitland, actually on the outskirts, and I is a great location. I'd also suggest altamonte springs.
