No, they don't sting, but if one lands on you it might pinch, because they have little suction cup type feet.
They are loud, though!!!!

no. cicadas are perfectly harmless. they're just really annoying and they come every seven to ten years.

No, but they taste like "minty shrimp", I am told. I've never tasted them myself, but it does seem a waste of a lot of protien. Rip off the legs, twist the head and pull.
