I wanted to just know if it's cheaper to just find.. for example.. a speedboat dock randomly over in cancun and pay right then and there or is it cheaper to book it on expedia first.

I waited til I got there, was so easy to bargin them down to a cheaper price, ALOT cheaper than expedia! We went out snorkeling for the entire day, included our alcohol but no food, was like 25USD a person thru Aqua World, had ablast, there are stores, you can buy chips and stuff at, or if you go all inclusive, go make a sandwich or order a sandwich thru room service ( they always have little packs of mayo and mustard ) and take it with you.

If you dont want to worry about tracking down an activity and finding something at a good price, i would suggest booking something thru expedia.

I went to cancun and booked at the hotel once I arrived, and I feel like the prices were a bit high....but they offered a wide variety of activities (perhaps more than what expedia offers)

However when I went to hawaii i did book some activities thru expedia and i was quite pleased with the results.

If you want the ease of not having to do additional scheduling once you arrive go with expedia. If you want to shop around locally and see what deals you can get, go with waiting

good luck and have fun!

i have used expedia a few times and had trouble each time. if you change anything about your reservations you are going to get billed anyway by expedia in addition to whatever you put on your credit card.

ask the locals - they will know what is best.

We found that by arranging things when we got to Cancun we could get discounts through the resort we stayed at. Plus you can ask other guests where good deals could be found.
