Does anyone remember the name of the lady that wrote "The Clan of the Cave Bear" ? I think her name was Jane Auel, but I'm not sure. I was also wondering if you guys knew if she wrote a final book about the Clan people? A few years ago I heard she was writing a final Clan book, but I lost track of whether she did or not. Please help if you can. Thanks, everyone. : )

Yes, her name is Jane Auel. Her last book about Ayla and Jondalar was Shelter of Stone. That one is about Ayla and Jondalar finally finishing their journay from her valley, across the glacier, to his homeland. This was the last book in the series.

This is a wonderful series and I have read them over and over again, not necessarily in the order they were written.

As far as I know, she is working on Book Six. I've heard rumors her health is not well, though, so "Shelters of Stone" could wind up being the last book in the series. I don't believe it's intended to be though. In fact, a lot of it seems just like set-up for what comes next.
