old motorcycle that was given to me... and the gas tank had gas in it but its been sittin so i definetly have to clean it out... how do go about doin that??

Take the tank off and drain it. Put some fuel system cleaner and a little new gas in the tank, and shake it all around. Drain again, re-mount it, and fill with new gas & another can of fuel system cleaner.
Do the same with the carb float bowl, btw. And change the filter...

remove it and dump it flush it with a couple of bottles of carb cleaner...n if it has rust inside got to http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Search?catalogId=10101&storeId=10101&sku=gas+tank+sealer&searchbtn.x=11&searchbtn.y=8 and buy the sealer and follow the instructions.... then reinstall the tank

PAINT THINNER is the best thing to use because it's flammable and will mix with the new gas
