craigslist, westside rentals, and the other typical internet sites? I've tried all those. Are there big property management companies or private parties that I can find a way to contact? And I never see "houses for rent" on the typical sites either? Is there a special site for that?

Just talk to a local real estate agent. They have access to the database of properties and they get paid by the landlord if they bring in a qualified tenant.
