Your son may be developing Vertiligo (spelling??)...those may not be brown patches, they may be lots of white patches (no pigment). Common affliction, makes the person extremely sensitive to sun...always use sunblock big time. Have the doc check it out. The brown may be the normal tanning of skin, the white where no pigmentation exists...usually genetic, spreads over large patches of body. Good luck

You don't say whether this has recently appeared or become more prominent. If he has pale skin then it's possibly just odd pigmentation. I have that myself. However, this isn't something that's just happened.

it could be psoriasis or eczema, these are to common skin conditions that people have. I myself suffer from both of them, all you have to do is bring it to the attention of your childs physician and he will be able to tell you in detail if it is that or something else
