Yes, I have been ripped off on Ebay before, and that has caused, not only my money, but my time and trouble too.

In March, I purchased a custom-made prom dress through seller prmemi. She said that the dress could be finished in 31 days, and would arrive in my postbox probably in late April or May. So, I waited and waited until the 1st day of May. Because I still hadn't received it yet, I contacted prmemi and she said that their computer system shut down and so all orders were delayed. So, again, I waited until the end of May, and contacted her again. She said that the factory had shipped the finished dress; but the weather, this time, caused the delay in the delivery. So, I waited, until finally the weekend before my prom. I was forced to buy a new prom dress last-minute. And, alas, my dress bought from eBay never came.

In the end, after my prom, I finally annoyed her enough to get a refund, but not a full one. She sent funds to my Paypal account; and for receiving that fund, I was charged a service fee from Paypal! And, she didn't even pay for the damage charges either, or compensate for the HUGE difference from March to June in the exchange rate!

Not only that, but, because the auction was over 60 days old, I never got to leave negative feedback for prmemi, nor was I able to inform the eBay resolution centre about this problem!

Everything cost me about $170!

I got ripped off 7 dollars for a cd once. I didn't bother to file a complaint but I did get ripped off 28 dollars for a t-shirt I bought through a forum buying/selling thread. 2 Weeks and I didn't receive anything. So I filed a complaint through paypal, hoping to get my money back soon.

I have, and so many others have too. It's just a risk that you're guna take when you buy something on eBay. One thing you could do to prevent it is check the seller's feedback. If he/she has some negatives, look at them and see why. You have to be really careful on eBay. Buy at your own risk!

I have once out of like a hundred and ten times. It's rare but it does happen. I was ripped off for almost a hundred dollars but there is nothing I could do about it. Buyer beware.

You've gotta look at who your buying from. If you're buying from someone who is actually just selling their old dtuff, you're usually allright. The ones you have to look out for are the "wholesale" dealers. They are typically a member for a year or less, change name frequently, and often sell items "as is". Read those descriptions carefully and look at their feedback before putting in a bid.

I've been ripped off twice. A t-shirt for $25.00 and an audio cassette for like $4.00 or so. Not bad considering I have over a hundred transactions to my name.
