Mariah's got better range (5 octaves - "whistle notes"), but all of her songs have started to sound the same. She does do all of her own writing though, so she definitely gets points for that. Xtina gets tight vocally in her upper range and has a tendency to over use the melisma (vocal gymnastics), even more so than Mariah. Xtina does write too, and even wrote "Miss Independent" (later finished and sung by Kelly Clarkson). Okay, so I think I like Mariah better vocally, but I think I give Xtina props for continuing to push on in a new direction with her music. :)

I really like mariah carey because of her voice and some songs but i would rather listen to christina

Mariah, she has a much more wide vocal range. And she writes and composes all of her stuff.

christina aguilera of course!!!! have u seen her in concert!! mc is boring! no performing at all....she doesnt dance or put on a show!! she just breaks your glasses!! CA is so much better and hotter!
