I am having problems with the sink in my bathroom. Whenever i run water the bowl will fill up and after i shut off the water. The water drains really, really slow. I have used all kinds of liquid drain products. But nothing has seem to work. So before I call a plumber, is there any thing I can do

There could be something that the chemicals will not undo. try a clothes hanger if you can get past the little metal things. You can take the plunger out and it should be just a hole to run the hanger down.

try this before u call a plumber...the problem your having is hair and some other debris inside your drain. look under the sink and remove the master trap. (its the white plastic drain that looks like a u.) or it could be metal. anyway remove any debris from inside it. now reinstall it back. next remove the pop up essembly ( its the part above the master trap) here is where u will find the hair. remove all and reinstall the pop up..... test the drain now it should be a whole lot better.. if not... call a plumber..sorry good luck

You can remove the trap underneath, and wash it out with water. That is usually the best thing you can do. If the trap is clean, you may have to buy or rent a hand operated snake and go into the drain that goes into the wall.

This is one of the worst jobs in my house.
Take tweezers and paper towels (or Clorox wipes). Begin to carefully pull the "muck" from inside the drain. You'll have to repeatedly wipe the tweezers off, but this works wonders.

You could go to the trouble of removing the drain cover but I haven't found it helped much.
Wash the tweezers in the dishwasher when finished.

Put baking soda in the drain then pour vinegar down the drain. You may need to do this a couple of times.

If you can remove the stopper, you'll probably find that a lot of hair has wrapped itself around it. Clean it thoroughly before replacing it in the drain.

Good luck ~ plumbers are expensive!

You can shove some soda crysals down the drain. Just follow the instructions on the box. Also try the manual method.

sounds like it is clogged or not vented properly. Try snaking it or make sure there are no blockages on the vent cap on your roof
