I have a 1992 ford explorer, the ac used to work perfect up until a few months ago. So I recently had it recharged, it worked for about an hour then started blowing out hot air again. Now I have had it recharged, the pump replaced, and have had a mechanic look for leaks which none were found. Does anyone out there have any idea what the problem could be??
Thank you so much!

third, is the compressor even turning on
fourth, is it still full of freon, those fords are known for there leaks
fifth, get a different mechanic

I have the same problem with a car 1 year younger than yours. My mechanic told me I need to replace the AC system completely, and that costs 500 freaking dollars. I'm not paying that much, but if you want to, go ahead, It's not very hot right now where I live, so I just keep my windows down

Sounds like it could be your blend door is sticking or not staying open which is a problem in my Expedition. It is costly to fix too, I usually just keep turning it back and forth between vent and air conditioning and turn it off and on until it stays on air conditioning.
