An Ipod is like an Mp3 Player, just with alot of extras and stuff. but you have to pay for those extras too. Like for example, if you buy this software you are able to record movies and stuff onto your ipod. You also have to pay for the wires you need to connect the Ipod to the computer (of course you need that for Mp3 too, but the wires for Ipod are probably more expensive.)
There are many sizes for it. there are big sizes if you want to record movies and watch them, and small ones for just music.
Personally, if you're looking for a portable music player, and MP3 player is the way to go. It's cheaper too. All those extra stuff costs money. if you want exlusive or the best though, an iPod is what you might want.

We have 3 Philips MP3 players in our family, all purchased at Best Buy. But.....
One has had to be replaced 3 times since January. Another made it 8 months before having to mail it back to Philips. The hard drives kept crashing, especially when we tried to download from the internet.
While Best Buy might help with IPOD repair, they know nothing about the Philips brand.
As for the machine itself, I do like it. Easy to navigate, the radio picks up clear reception, long battery life and 10,000 songs is alot. Hopefully in the year since we first purchased this brand, Philips has made some improvements.
In all, I'd give the Philips MP3 a B- grade.

If your looking for just music, a regular mp3 is the way 2 go. Ipods have a lot of extra features that just add too the price tag. Best buy would probably be the besat place 2 get 1.

An iPod is an MP3 player. You don't have to have an iPod; there are a lot of good players out there.
Go to Best Buy and ask one of the workers there to help you. They come in a variety of sizes and with a wide variety of memory space.
I have an iPod, and personally, I'm ready to pitch it out the window.

MP3 players involves disks, I believe. iPod Mini does not. I love my iPod. My husband bought it for me (used) on eBay. No fancy extras, no games, pictures or junk. I got one of those alarm/bedside clocks (from Costco) to use as a charger.
I use iTunes to put my existing CD's in the computer. I then plug in the iPod to the computer and put in whatever songs I want. I also listen to spoken word podcasts (Bible studies). I also shop for music online in the iTunes Music Store.
Easy, easy easy. I LOVE IT!
