(dont worry, he is a legit friend)

He lives in another city, and i recently gave him my phone number because my internet was being cut off and we wanted to keep in touch...

but then i found out that my internet was not cutting off after all, so i told him to delete my number because there was no use for it - but he doesnt, he just makes a joke and then expects me to forget that i asked him to delete it!

I dont get it, the only reason i gave the number was to keep in touch but he doesnt nee my phone number anymore, there is no use for it to him - so why isnt he deleting it?

He doesnt call me but texts me once in a while, but we still talk online...whats the point of keeping it?

But what is the point of deleting it either,if he was giving you nuance calls or being a stalker then you can report him or change your number. It seems logical that if you gave him your number he can text you occasionally,if you keep in touch with him on line and are friends then I don't see any harm in the odd text.
However if its a case of he should delete your number because you told him to ,even though you gave it to him then perhaps this sends out mixed signals.
If it really bothers you then take the time to explain to him why and hopefully he will respect your wishes and delete it.
Good luck !

Well the first mistake you made was to give out your number, never do that again. The next time you have an on-line friend you want to keep in touch with ask for their number this way if your internet sevice is disconnected you can call them and you will not have to worry about anything like this ever again.

That would infuriate me.He has control.Change your sim card,I would. It's worth the inconvenience.YOU have the last laugh. It doesn't matter if you chat online. To me,he is the type who likes having a hold over someone.I've met types like him in the past.DO NOT ever meet this person,it would be a big mistake. To not do a simple thing like delete is a person who doesn't have any respect over what you want.Keep safe.

If he's a 'legit friend' whats the problem? I agree about internet safety but seriously your still talking to this guy so why does it matter if he has your number or not?

Reading between the lines, in otherwords its not what you have said, its a case what you have NOT said.

I think you have problems about how you really feel about this guy, you are not confidant about him, your instinct seems not to trust him, why are you not following it?

Do not answer his texts, tell him you have lost your mobile, keep him at arms length via the net, because that is the safest thing to do at present, you know it! You dont need to ask, you already KNOW the answer.

MAYBE if you ever had a little argument, he'd use it as a weapon or... um... something. :s

OR maybe if his computer was going funny, he'd have your phone number. A just-in-case option.

But what I'm thinking is that if I was him, I might be plotting something if I was annoyed with you or something. I'm not sure sorry.

I actually have many on-line associates that I evaluate to be "actual associates". constructive, i do not get to work out them even inspite of the undeniable fact that i'd like to, yet that does no longer recommend that they don't look to be merely almost as good of associates as actual-existence ones.

But when he sends you a text message do you reply? If you do, then you are encouraging him to retain your number. But if you dont want him to text you or delete your number when he texts you, ignore it and dont reply
