Perhaps they do have something to say. Perhaps you are just not hearing it. Answering a plea for help not only assists the one who asks, but also makes the one who replies dig deep for a meaningful answer, which may in some way help them as well.
Why are certain people drawn to different questions? There is a connection between both people. It may be an experience, or it may be a need. In the long run, we are all one, connected in this Universe. So why would a person not answer a question if he/she thinks they can be of some small service.
