Marlo Morgan wrote Mutant Message Down Under and I agree with the person above it really is good. It's very short so a quick read but will leave you thinking.

For fun why not read the culinary mystery series by Diane Mott Davidson? They are really interesting and light reads, but very hard to figure out the killers. Also M.C. Beaton mysteries. She writes the Hamish MacBeth series which takes place in the Scottish Highlands and the Agatha Raisin series which takes place in the Cottswolds.

I would also very highly recommend the Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot series. I don't like Miss Marple anywhere near as much.

Finally I think the Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout is outstanding.

The Walking Drum by Louis Lamour
Its about the merchant caravans of 12th Century Europe or
Last of the Breed by the same author

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is excellent. It's incredibly long (like 600 pages), but worth it. Despite the title, it has more to do with the mystery and the chase than with solid history.

Well, you could continue to read more Dan Brown books such as "Angels and Demons" or "Digital Fortress". James Patterson writes a lot of fiction novels that are mystery and suspense. I also read "Dance of Death" and "Book of the Dead" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. A good place to check for new books and best seller lists is at Barnes and Nobles. The update their lists hourly. Happy reading!

Try John Grisham, The Testament
Most of his books are based on the legal profession and a good read.
