Lex Luthor listens to a lot of different classical pieces on his ship. One is composed by Antonio Vivaldi and is entitled "Spring". Another is from Georges Bizet's "Carmen", and the piece is called the "Habanera" (L'amour est un oiseau rebelle). There is another famous opera duet from "Lakme" known as "Viens, Mallika" or the "Flower Duet" composed by Leo Delibes.
The first time you see Lex on his boat talking to Kitty about Prometheus, the "Flower Duet" is playing in the background.
When Lois and her son were tresspassing on to Lex's boat, "Habanera" from "Carmen" was playing.
When Lex was talking to Lois and her son, "Spring" by Vivaldi was playing.

Here's the soundtrack listing for that movie according to the Internet Movie Database. It's probably one of these.

Several choices:
"Spring" from "The Four Seasons"
Written by Antonio Vivaldi
"Habanera" from "Carmen"
Written by Georges Bizet
"Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major"
Written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
I have a feeling it's the Vivaldi piece -- classic, elegant and exciting...
Good luck in your search... :)

If the song that you are talking about is the one that the kid is playing on the piano, then I believe that it is "Heart and Soul".
It was the song playing in the movie "Big" when Tom Hanks was in the toy store.

Hmmm...Did you see if maybe it was on the Superman Returns soundtrack? Sometimes they aren't all pop/rock songs.
