I would like opinions on the places too. The best school might not always be what the ratings say they are. Friendly and approachable teachers are a good thing and so is a social life but i definately want to be able to try a lot of different classes in different areas. So any help is welcome. :)

MIT, Cal Poly, or Worcester Polytechnic Institute (also near Boston).

Microsoft is starting some robotics work. If you like Microsoft, U of Washington in Seattle do have strong computer/engineering dept.

MIT, Stanford, U. of Illinois in that order, in my opinion.
